A leading hospital in Bahrain is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Neonatologist to join its medical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing specialized care to newborn infants, particularly premature and critically ill neonates, while ensuring the highest standards of patient care in accordance with established clinical protocols, assigned privileges, and Bahrain healthcare regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • MBBS/MD with a recognized postgraduate qualification in Neonatology or Pediatrics with subspecialty training in Neonatology.
  • Western Board Certification, CCT, CCST, American Board, Canadian Board, Australian Fellowship, or an equivalent Western qualification is mandatory.
  • Eligible for licensing with the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA), Bahrain.
  • Extensive experience in neonatal intensive care and the management of high-risk newborns.
  • Strong expertise in neonatal resuscitation, ventilation, and critical care management.
  • Preference will be given to Arab and Western doctors.
  • Indian doctors with recognized Western qualifications are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to premature, critically ill, and high-risk newborn infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage neonatal conditions and complications in accordance with evidence-based practices and assigned privileges.
  • Perform neonatal resuscitation and other specialized procedures as required.
  • Collaborate closely with obstetricians, pediatricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Monitor and evaluate neonatal patients, adjusting treatment plans based on clinical progress.
  • Provide guidance and counseling to parents and families regarding neonatal conditions, treatment options, and follow-up care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents, and other healthcare staff as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records and clinical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NHRA regulations, patient safety standards, and ethical medical practices.
